Lisa received her master’s
degree in counseling from
Purdue
University
in 1981. She is a
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and has been in private
practice for over ten years. She
has worked with individuals and families for over 35 years.
Lisa has worked as a social worker in school settings, both private
and public including a school for children with special needs.
Additionally she was the social worker and then the director
of a home for pregnant and parenting teens, teaching them parenting
skills and helping them complete their education.
Her agency was one of the test sites for Stephen Bavalick’s
Nurturing Parenting Curriculum.
Lisa is a Certified Theraplay® Therapist,and has training in
Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Traditional Play Therapy, Clay
Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Cognitive/Behavioral Therapy,
Psychodynamic Therapy, Theophostic Prayer (basic and advanced),
E.M.D.R. and
Christian counseling.
Lisa’s training and experience
enable her to help individuals and families struggling with adoption
issues, attachment issues, A.D.H.D., behavioral difficulties,
parenting, past trauma, past abuse and neglect, anxiety in children,
teens, and adults, depression in children, teens, and adults,
divorce issues for children, teens, and adults, children with
special needs, siblings of children with special needs, relationship
and spiritual issues
Lisa has been married for over
35 years and has two adult children.
In her spare time she enjoys bike riding, traveling, and
reading. She is active
in her church as the coordinator of a ministry that provides aides
for children with special needs and one of the coordinators of her
church's Theophostic Prayer ministry.
She has a relaxed, caring style
of counseling that most people find very helpful.
